Job Description: We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented individual to join our team. The successful candidate responsibilities include, but are not limited to, structural steel inspections, special inspection, construction materials testing, and daily field reporting. This role requires a strong understanding of design principles and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, project managers, and construction site personnel.
Responsibilities:
- Inspection of structural steel during erection on buildings and inspection of pipe welds for utility projects and building projects, as well as plant inspections
- Observation and testing of construction materials
- Daily field reporting
- Safely maintaining assigned company vehicle and field-testing equipment
Requirements:
- NDT Level I or II in one or more methods (UT, MT, PT, VT) UT preferred
- Understand plan/blueprint reading
- Be able to lift up to 80 lbs.
- Be able to perform physical activities required of the testing procedures including squatting, bending, lifting, climbing and traversing difficult terrain
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Have a willingness to perform work after regular business hours, occasional night work, and some weekends when necessary
- Driver’s license required
- Hourly rate is based on experience
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
- ICC Special Inspector
- Understanding of plan/blueprint reading
- Willingness to learn and obtain industry certifications, as needed (company will pay for all certifications, training and bonuses)
