    Falcon’s Environmental Services Manager, Christo Falcon’s Environmental Services Manager, Christopher Burkhardt, who serves as the Workshop Coordinator for the North Carolina Association of Environmental Professionals, recently organized registration and logistics for the Rare Plant & Natural Communities Workshop in Uwharrie National Forest. This full-day field trip was led by the North Carolina Natural Heritage Program (@ncnaturalheritage) and focused on identifying and understanding the habitats of the state-protected Georgia aster and federally listed Schweinitz’s sunflower. Participants also had the chance to observe several rare yellow pitcher plants and unique natural communities and wetland ecosystems. Along with a valuable educational experience, the event raised over $1,500 for the North Carolina Natural Heritage Program! Thank you NHP for all you do!

Brittany will be working in our Environmental Services Department, where she will be conducting field investigations, summarizing findings, and preparing reports. Brittany has a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Austin Peay State University and has been in the A/E/C industry for six years. We are excited to bring Brittany’s skills to the team, and look forward to her contributions at Falcon!
    We are happy to welcome Ozzy Arizmendi to Falcon’s Construction services team. Ozzy is a US Marine veteran and previously worked with AT&T. During his time in the Marines, he worked as a secure network administrator. Ozzy was looking to make a career change and has always had an interest in civil engineering. We are happy to have Ozzy on board as he begins this new career path. He will be serving as Engineering Technician for Falcon, and has hit the ground running - thus far completing his nuke gauge safety certification and ACI class.

    Congrats to Falcon’s Ryan Livingston who recentl Congrats to Falcon’s Ryan Livingston who recently received his certification for Level I Unbonded PT Installation. This designation certifies that Ryan has the understanding and knowledge surrounding the installation and inspection of single strand unbonded post-tensioning (PT) systems for structures. Ryan has been an integral Engineering Technician on a variety of Falcon projects, including our recent work on the Randolph County Farm, Food, and Family Resource Center and the Chatham Park YMCA. We look forward to Ryan’s continued contributions to Falcon with this new designation.

He has been in the construction industry for ten years, and recently completed his ACI/NCDOT concrete training last week. We’re looking forward to what Hunter will bring to the team!

    Congratulations to @ncstate on the topping out of Congratulations to @ncstate on the topping out of the Integrative Sciences Building (ISB) - located on the heart of campus at the brickyard. Our Falcon team (a couple of which are NC State Alumni) were honored to be in attendance for this milestone! Thank you to @skanskausa for coordinating the event. Falcon is providing materials testing and special inspections during construction of the ISB, and also provided geotechnical engineering during design.
    Congratulations to Matt Cyran who recently passed Congratulations to Matt Cyran who recently passed the FE Civil Exam to obtain his EI certification. Matt also holds a Master of Special Inspections Designation (MSI) and is a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI). He has been particularly instrumental in our work for City of Durham and Durham County, as well as many of our Education-focused projects. Congrats, Matt!

    Falcon’s, Christopher Burkhardt, PWS, is serving Falcon’s, Christopher Burkhardt, PWS, is serving as a 2024 Board Member for the NC Association of Environmental Professionals (NCAEP). As a board member, Christopher actively organizes and participates in Rare Plant and natural community workshops, contributing over 20 years of experience in natural resource documentation, including Wetland, stream, and buffer delineation and permitting, and threatened and endangered species surveys. Congrats on your appointment to the Board, Christopher! NCAEP is the largest multi-disciplinary professional organization of its kind in the State. Formed in 1989, the association has grown to over 350 individual members and 20 member corporations in 2023. NCAEP elevates the environmental profession through workshops, scholarships, and more.
