Falcon attended the groundbreaking ceremony for Durham Public Schools new Northern High School. School and County officials spoke on the excitement of the new school, and what this new building will bring for students and the Durham community. In addition to a new high school building, the site will also include athletic fields, a fieldhouse, and a restroom and concessions building. Site retaining walls, stormwater ponds, and associated underground infrastructure were also a significant part of the design.

Falcon provided geotechnical services during site selection and initial phases of development. The school was to be replaced on the existing campus, but subsurface conditions within the footprint of the planned school area were less than ideal. The Project Team decided that it would be more cost effective to purchase a new property for the school. Falcon assisted the Team with a due diligence subsurface investigation for purchasing a nearby property which was found to be suitable for purchase. Moving into construction, Falcon will be providing materials testing and special inspections.

The Architect is RATIO and the Construction Manager is Barnhill Contracting. Other project team members include CLH Design, LHC/Bennett & Pless, and PDC Engineers.
