Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Intern

Falcon is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Intern to join our growing team in Raleigh, NC. PE preferred – EI with ample design experience acceptable. Experience working with LPILE, APILE, GRLWEAP, ReSSA/STABLPRO, and/or other similar foundation design software required. Prior experience overseeing and performing NCDOT Geotechnical field investigations for roadways, bridges, retaining walls, and pavements is preferred.

Experience with MicroStation/GeoPaK, gINT, and NCDOT workspace a plus. Occasional travel for meetings, site visits, and field work will be required but work will predominantly be out of our Raleigh office. Must be able to lift 75lbs. Geotechnical Field Professional

Falcon is seeking a Geotechnical Field Professional to join our growing team in Raleigh, NC. An undergraduate degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Geology, as well as 2 years (minimum) of related Geotechnical Field experience is required. Prior experience performing NCDOT Geotechnical field investigations for roadways, bridges, retaining walls, and pavements is preferred.  Experience working with Gint, Geopak and Microstation softwares is also preferred. This position will require a mix of out-of-town travel for field assignments, as well as work within our Raleigh office.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Geology
  • 2 years (minimum) of related Geotechnical Field experience

Construction Materials Testing Technician
Location: Cary, NC

Falcon is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Technician for our Raleigh testing and inspections group. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 5 years of testing and/or inspection experience. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, materials testing, inspections, and daily field reporting.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Candidate should possess both a NCDOT and American Concrete Institute (ACI) Field Technician Level I, Nuclear Gauge User Certification, NICET Level 1 – Soils, NICET Level 1 – Concrete and NICET Level 1 – Asphalt preferred.
  • Have basic understanding of plan/blueprints.
  • Be able to lift equipment up to 60 lbs.
  • Be able to performing physical activities required of the testing procedures including squatting, bending, lifting, climbing and traversing difficult terrain.
  • Be proficient at basic mathematic computations to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Have a willingness to perform work after regular business hours, on weekends and sometimes on holidays when necessary.
  • Driver’s license required.

Falcon is seeking a Special Inspector for our testing and inspections group. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of testing and inspection experience. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, inspections, materials testing, daily field reporting, plan reading and record keeping.
